At Save Valley Forge Road, we are dedicated to preserving the natural habitats that sustain local wildlife along Valley Forge Road in Weston, CT. Our initiatives focus on conservation efforts to promote and protect the Saugatuck River ecosystem from the impact of a roadway reconstruction and expansion project proposed by the Town of Weston.
Join us in our mission to keep Valley Forge Road a peaceful, safe, and scenic road that connects our community with the Saugatuck River, Devil's Den, Trout Brook Preserve and the Saugatuck Reservoir's natural habitat.
But Weston's Plan goes far beyond what's needed for this 300 year-old historic and scenic road on the the banks of the Saugatuck River.
The Plan calls for widening travel lanes from 18 ft to 22 ft, plus 3-5 feet for guardrails & retaining walls on 1.25 miles on VFR. Weston's Plan includes:
